Knitting club x Ysgol Pont Y Gof project
Over the last few weeks, the Knitting club has been busy making cuddly toys for the children of Jolaurabi school in Kenya. Ysgol Pont Y Gof are in contact with the school, and they came to us in April to ask if the new knitting club would be happy to make toys for a new nursery that is being opened at the school. Of course, our talented knitters got to work, and over a period of 6 weeks, everyone got together every Friday morning to make the toys, and some made them at home too! Teddies, bunnies, owls, mice, eliphants, monkeys and more were created using wool that was donated by the local community. We are so thankful to everyone for being so generous!
It was great to welcome the children of Ysgol Pont Y Gof here half way through the project to see the toys and see the community work that goes on here in Congl Meinciau. It will be strange to see the toys all gone, but we hope the little children in Kenya love playing and cuddling with them. The Knitting club will continue every Friday Morning as we work on new projects. A warm welcome to all!
